Top marks go to Forbes Group’s Alu-Lite tables from Brinsop Court Estate. The tables have solved a number of problems for Sharon Davis, the House & Events Preparation Manager; they are compact, light-weight, flush fitting, have design aesthetic, reduce noise, and are hard wearing – all useful attributes for a busy wedding venue.
Alu-Lite tables are light enough that two can be carried at a time (one under each arm)! This has reduced resource costs as all staff can handle the tables easily alone and setting up no longer requires two staff per table. It importantly also resolves health & safety concerns.
Lightweight & compact folding banquet tables
As Brinsop Court is increasing the number of weddings that they host every week, this is critical to their success. They are frequently setting up in rooms at the same time as a wedding ceremony or reception is carrying on in another part of the property, so the reduction in noise due to the tables being light weight and easy to install is beneficial.
Compact sizes (particularly of half-round tables) and folding legs are useful for both storage and for getting tables through limited access which has meant that they no longer need to be carried up main staircase thoroughfares and can be discretely portered around the premises.
Although the weight has reduced dropping or banging tables, the tables have proven to be hard wearing when bumped, despite the perception that a light-weight table will not be sturdy.
Rectangular tables can be pushed together without linkage systems and still butt up against each other beautifully, providing a smooth flat surface that is pleasing for photographs. In contrast, the old steel table legs needed to be hidden and the table surface (wood) had warped over time and spillages, so that the surface was unsteady.

Brides frequently request that tablecloths are not too long so that their heels do not get caught up in the tablecloth, however the upstairs position of our main Banqueting Hall means that the first glimpse of the room is from below when coming up the stairs and we want the tables to be attractive from this angle.
