Forbes Group provides the local community with a public defibrillator

The defibrillator is registered with the West Midlands Ambulance service and is available for public use and by anyone on the trading estate who needs it.

To access the equipment, which is situated outside the Forbes Group factory on Glendower Road, you need to dial 999 and give the location number on the box. You’ll then be given instructions for use.

There are three other defibrillators in Leominster registered with the West Midlands Ambulance service, located at the local council offices in Corn Square, the Black Swan Public House and Morrison’s Supermarket.

According to South West ambulance service advice, every additional minute of delay before treatment reduces the chance of survival by 10%, so every additional defibrillator available means that more people are treated earlier and survive.

A number of other local companies were invited to contribute to funding the equipment including TM Factors, Wills Engineering, Leominster Accident Repair Centre, Investment Tooling Technology, and Barrington Print. Forbes Group employees took part in training on how to use the defibrillator in an emergency and were joined by employees from TM Factors, Investment Tooling and Wills Engineering.

Local deputy mayor Jenny Bartlett, Councillor Clive Thomas and Councillor John Rumsey attended the event at Forbes Group today. Chris Graville says “I hope it never gets used, but it is there if anyone needs it and if it helps save a life, it will be worth every penny.”
