Trends for chair covers
Chair covers are used to cover banquet chairs for weddings and private functions. They provide a consistent look across the room and a neutral background to decorations. What's trending in chair covers?
Fabric chair covers
Classic chair covers are made in fabric and are loose covers that drop over chairs. It is possible for customisation in any colour, plain or patterned fabric. Linen style fabrics look expensive. Designer fabrics like brocades or jacquard damask can provide a unique and richer experience.
Chairs in use at an Asian wedding can have chair covers in a detailed fabric in rich red or gold colours. We have made chair covers for private societies and period properties in gold and cream damask fabrics. These chair covers are particularly beautiful by candlelight when the light picks up the shine in the fabric.
Classic chair covers can be used on dining chairs. We have produced purple velvet chair covers for a top London restaurant. The velvet fabric provides texture and colour to the setting. It ties in beautifully purple accents in the wallpaper.
Over the years we have produced many chair cover designs on request. Chair covers can have integral bows, buttons, zips or pleats in contrasting fabric. Chair covers can also be ruched or gathered to provide a full skirt or swag details.
Stretch chair covers
In a contemporary setting, elasticated stretch chair covers provide a sleek and consistent finish on chairs. The chairs can have different coloured upholstery or be of different shapes and the stretch chair covers will provide cohesion.
The advantage of stretch chair covers is that they do not need to be ironed and they can be fitted to a chair quickly and easily. This saves time when a large function room has to be prepared in advance of a wedding or conference.
Stretch chair covers are available in practical black and white, which is often used by wedding venues. The chair covers can also be made up in many other colours including pink, purple, green, gold, red and blue.
Customised chair covers
Don’t forget that as our stretch chair covers are custom made, they can be floral, monogrammed with Mr & Mrs, branded with your logo, printed with photos, and more. This will work well if you have a patterned design in mind for your venue.
Chair covers are made to order. This means that they can be customised to fit your existing chair stocks or meet a particular requirement. We often make elasticated chair covers with an arch at the front. This provides extra legroom for guests.
Different materials can be used for the seat and base of the chair cover. We have combined fabric and elasticated materials in one of our chair designs, jacquard and linen style fabrics in another.
Of course, chair covers can also be accessorised with removable bows, organza sashes, hoods, slips, ruffled knots and twisted ties. A contrasting colour bow can tie into the colour scheme.
Trends in chair covers
We have made a vast array of chair accessories over the years to fit in with the latest trends for venues. The current trend for Chiavari chairs decorated with organza sashes loosely tied is one.
On trend are white bows on white chair covers or black bows on black chair covers. Or alternate black and white chairs for a different monochrome scheme. Or one colour on every third chair for a tricolour scheme.
For 2024 events we have an environmentally friendly fabric that is made from recycled plastic bottles. We can make chair covers and accessories up in this fabric, which is available in multiple colours.
